The nostalgia is so real in the beauty world lately. It's almost as if everything we loved from childhood is returning to our lives in the form of makeup. See: the Pirates of the Caribbean palettes, the Lisa Frank brushes, and the Beauty and the Beast serum, and that's all in the last few weeks.
[post_ads]The latest we're lusting over are the Sailor Moon lipsticks. (As far as we know, this is the first time there's been a Sailor Moon lipstick.) Creer Beaute, which is based in Japan, recently dropped the Sailor Moon Moisture Rouge collection, which includes five neutral pinky and red hues. (Yup, it's the same company that also brought us the out-of-stock Sailor Moon sheet masks.) Like the popular transforming Lipstick Queen Mornin' Sunshine and Winxy Luxe Flower Balm, the five shades from Sailor Moon also change colors depending on the user's pH.
No matter if you're basic (in the pH sense) or acidic, the Sailor Moon lipsticks leave behind a sheer wash of color. Thanks to hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, squalane, and macadamia seed oil, you're also left with a glossy finish. The best part is the caps, and the overall packaging, really: They don't look like traditional bullets. Instead, they look like chubby clicky pens, kind of like the Clarins 4-Colour All-in-One Pen.

Each lipstick caps has a different symbol that will make you feel like your favorite character from the Japanese anime cartoon: Sailor Mercury comes in a blue tube with the manga character's heart-shaped emblem; the lipstick is a barely there pale pink. There's also Sailor Mars, an all-around ruby red, including the lipstick and the tube. Sailor Moon's eponymous lipstick, on the other hand, has a red gemstone on the top of a pink tube. It's the closest thing you'll get to her wand in your beauty routine.Unfortunately, there's a catch to these adorably nostalgic lippies: We'll have to keep admiring them from afar, because the Sailor Moon lipsticks aren't available in the U.S. just yet. Excuse us while we binge on every single Sailor Moon on Hulu to ease this pain.
