Winter makeup has a much different look compared to makeup during the other seasons of the year. This time of year, the place I live is cold, dry, and snowy, and my winter makeup looks reflect this feel. (If you live in a climate where this isn't the case, then know that I'm incredibly jealous.)

Thanks to the winter climate, different makeup trends and staples come back into popularity because of how well they complement the change in weather. Make sure your makeup look is up-to-date this winter by incorporating these four holy grail winter makeup products into your makeup routine!
Illuminating and Hydrating Primer
Dry skin is the main skin issue most people face during the winter. Regardless of skin type, we can all fall prey to a temporary bout of dry winter skin.
Keep that at bay with a hydrating primer! There are great options out there to restore moisture and even give your skin some extra illumination to make you look incredibly refreshed.
My personal favorite is the IPKN Radiant Cream Primer because it gives my skin the most amazing glow that you can see even through foundation and makeup. The NYX Born to Glow Illuminating Primer is another great and more affordable alternative that will give you that same effect.

Volumizing Mascara
Big lashes are always in, and what better season to play up your fluttery lashes than in the winter? Volumizing mascaras are one of the most life-changing eye products around because they can work wonders for opening up your eyes to make them really stand out.
The best mascara by far has to be the YSL The Shock Mascara. My wallet cries a little each time I repurchase it, but this mascara is completely worth every dollar. It makes my lashes full and thick in just one coat, where other mascaras need two or even three coats to get to that point. Some other great volumizing mascaras are the Covergirl Peacock Flair Mascara and the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara.
Deep Pink or Berry Blush
That sweet winter flush on the cheeks is a hallmark of the winter season. It's something that comes naturally with the cold, but can easily be recreated with the right blush! Blushes in deeper pink or berry tones will give you that same effect without having to suffer through cold weather.

MAC's Powder Blush in Pinch Me is a beautiful pink shade, while Glossier's Cloud Paint in Haze and Milani's Baked Blush in Red Vino are some stunning deeper red and berry shades that would look just as dazzling on the cheeks. Completely forgo the bronzer (yes, I just said that) and let the blush shine. Simply pop blush on and you've got yourself some pinch-worthy winter cheeks!
Lipstick Stain
Finally, perfect your wintery pout with a glossy lipstick/stain! Pink and nude lipsticks are perfect for this purpose. They can make your lips look massive and plump while enriching them with incredible moisture.
The L'oreal Color Riche Shine Lipstick is one of the newest drugstore lipstick releases, and can I just take a moment to say how amazing this product is? Amazing moisture and pigmentation wrapped up into one $7.99 package? Can't beat that! My favorite colors are Burnished Blush and Sparkling Rose.
Some other great lipsticks include the Revlon Kiss Lip Plumping Creme in Velvet Mink and the NYX Lip Lustre Glossy Lip Tint in Lovetopia.
