Selena Gomez has one gorgeous head of hair, and at the AMAs last weekend, she showed them off in a chic chignon. If you would like to recreate her red carpet look on your own mane, all you need to do is follow the tutorial below!
Get the look

Step one
Starting with freshly washed, towel dried hair, apply a straightening cream from roots to ends.
Step two
Blow-dry your hair in sections, using a paddle brush to guide the hair straight.

Step three
Once your locks are completely dry, you can apply a thermal protectant and use a flat iron for any final touch-ups.
Top tip - Try to think of your flat iron as more of a finishing tool than a way to get the bulk of the work done as this can save your hair from a lot of heat damage.
Step four
Use a tail comb to part your hair accurately down the middle, then tuck your hair tightly behind your ears.
Step five
Smooth your hair back into a low, tight ponytail and secure with an elastic. You can use a brush to eliminate bumps if necessary.

Step six
To create the all-important chignon, divide the pony into several separate sections, then twist and pin them individually to the back of your head. If the ends poke out here and there, that's totally fine because this kind of updo looks great with a slightly messy finish at the back.
Step seven
Spray your whole style liberally with hairspray for added shine and hold. To tame any flyaways, spray some more onto the palm of your hand, then smooth it over any unwanted wisps.
That's it!
