A Reese Witherspoon-inspired cat eye? Come hither.

Tired of your usual cat eye and mascara combo? Revamp your routine with colorful updates, dramatic metallics, and other on-trend eye makeup styles. Countless celebrities have graced recent red carpets with head-turning beauty statements. Here, we've rounded up a few of our favorites.

White Shadow

Icy temperatures call for corresponding eye makeup. Like Allison Janney's pearlescent lids, this is bold, bright, and appropriate for spicing up any season.

Au Naturel Eyes

You don't need to cake on makeup for a stunning result. Style icon Halle Berry proves this with her fresh-faced look. You can mimic her on-trend, low-maintenance beauty routine, which probably involves a little concealer and natural brown eyeliner.

 Monochromatic Color

Jane Krakowski matched her lids to her lips with this pink-on-pink combo. The consistency of her look, complete with voluminous lashes, will warm up any cool fall day.

Halfway Eyeliner

Just a little liner goes a long way. As Lori Loughlin showed us on the red carpet last month, ending your liner before the inner corner of your eye gives a fresh, bright-eyed effect.

 Two-Tone Eyeshadow

One of the boldest red carpet eye makeup looks in recent memory was when Scarlett Johansson stepped out at the Avengers premiere. Pick two shadows in your go-to palette and combine them by applying one hue all around your eye, and create a smoky eye effect on top with the other.

Blue Eyeliner

What better way to welcome the jewel tone-loving fall season than with blue eyeliner? Lupita Nyong’o’s makeup at the BAFTA awards was as edgy as it was subtle. "Make it less '80s by blending a thin line of blue above your regular black on top lids or wearing a sheer wash of slate up to your crease only," says Good Housekeeping’s Beauty Director April Franzino.

Blended Cat Eye

Gone are the days of applying your cat eye, messing it up somehow, and trying all over again. Reese Witherspoon’s less-defined look takes the hassle out of struggling for that flawless line. With this, you can save time and effort, without compromising on style.

Copper Eyes

Bring autumnal tones to your eyes with orange-red hues around your lash line. Priyanka Chopra only recently showed off her pre-wedded bliss, but with this look, she was glowing long before Nick Jonas popped the question.

Unfinished Cat Eye

The cat eye never goes out of style. But Lily Collins gave the go-to wing an update with this method, which is simply an outline of the cat eye. No fill in? No problem at all.

Silver Smoky Eye

Cindy Crawford kept her lips simple, probably to keep all eyes on the gray gradient effect on her lids. Keeping darker shades on the outer corners and bringing it in with cooler tones, this is 50 shades of great.

Sunset Eyes

With changing fall leaves comes this sunset-inspired gradient on your lids. Thanks to Viola Davis, we have all the inspiration we need to try out this brightening eyeshadow technique.

Voluminous Lower Lashes

There’s some '60s flair in Tracee Ellis Ross’s Oscars makeup. Her dramatic lashes go perfectly with another fall favorite: a classic red lip.

Sparkly Silver Shadow

You’ll be ready for any holiday (or night out) with Mandy Moore’s fun twist on a neutral tone. With mascara and falsies on the top lash line, it’s hard to look away from the sparkles enhancing her thick line of lashes.

Dark Brows

Don’t forget those bad boys above your eyes this season. If you don’t have naturally full brows, take a note from Meghan Markle and try a brow stain. “Inspired by professional brow tinting, these temporary tints deepen the color of your arches to enhance their shape, with the effects lasting up to a few days,” says Franzino.

Smudged Liner

The ‘90s grunge trend isn’t dying down. See how Emmy Rossum created this less-than-perfect line for a casually glamorous effect.
