Try a wash of amethyst
The secret to a smoky eye in seconds? Choose a highly pigmented eyeshadow and press it across your lids with your middle fingertip. Use a fluffy shadow brush to soften any harsh edges, and there you have it. Instead of fussing with a big palette, opt for one shadow (we vote for purple, which flatters just about everyone). Try ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Dare (amazon.com). If you tend to get oily, layer an eyeshadow primer, like Maybelline New York Master Prime Long-Lasting Eyeshadow Primer (amazon.com), underneath shadow to avoid creasing. Finish by tracing the same shadow along your lower lash lines and add mascara.

Let your inner corners shine
The quickest way to look well-rested (even when you’re not): Dab a shimmery white shadow onto the inner corners of your eyes. It takes a second, but lets you sparkle all day. We like Nars Cosmetics Velvet Shadow Stick in Galice (narscosmetics.com) because of its easy-to-use stick formula. Concentrate on inner corners, then drag the color along your lower lash lines, stopping right under your pupil. Wear it alone, or pair it with a neutral shadow in your crease. Complete the look by curling lashes, then adding mascara on top and bottom lashes and swiping on pink gloss.

Swipe on some cobalt
If liner stresses you out (crooked lines and uneven wings!), try this goof-proof technique: Trace a creamy blue liner along your bottom waterlines (the inner rim of lower lids) for definition, and skip top lids altogether. Try L’Oréal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Cobalt Blue ( lorealparisusa.com). The vibrant shade dazzles on all eye colors, but really works magic to brighten tired or red eyes. Keep the rest of your makeup minimal, with black mascara on top lashes to balance out the blue. Trouble getting liner to stick? Gently run a cotton swab along waterlines before applying.
