The hairstyle you wear on your wedding day completes your look,
completing your transformation from your everyday look to a beautiful
bride. You want to choose a style that is different from the look you
were every day, but you don’t want to wear something that has been seen a
million times before.
Braids are a wonderfully elegant style that
suite every bride, no matter what her style is. From simple to
elaborate, here are some braided bridal styles that will perfectly
complete your look.
A Fishtail Braid
The fishtail braid
is a twist on the traditional braid, and looks like, well, a fishtail.
It is wonderfully elegant and will create a romantic style that is
perfectly fitting for a wedding. Wear a low fishtail braid straight down
your back, braid it to one side so that it hands over one of your
shoulders, or wear a half-up, half-down fishtail.
Whichever way you choose to wear your fishtail, your hair will look simply stunning on your wedding day.
Braided Chignon
The word ‘chignon’ is French
for bun, and more specifically, a bun that is worn at the nape of the
neck. This elegant style is a popular bridal hairstyle pick, as it is
simple and sophisticated. If you really like a chignon, but you want to
add a twist to it, try adding a braid to it.
To create a braided chignon,
style a French braid on one side of your head, starting where your
bangs begin, and bring it down along the side of your head so that it
ends behind your ear. Secure the French braid with a clear elastic and
tuck it behind your ear with a bobby pin. Fashion the rest of your hair
into a low bun at the nape of your neck and you have yourself a stunning
bridal look.
Half-Up Crown Braid
This simple hairstyle will create a whimsical look on your wedding day.
Part
your hair down the middle and pull out the top section of your hair on
either side of your part. Fashion a braid in each section and secure
with a clear elastic. Wrap each braid around the opposite side of the
top of your head (the braid on the right should be wrapped around the
left side and the braid on the left should be wrapped around the right
side). Use a few bobby pins to hold the braids in place and you’ll have a
beautiful half-up crown braid. Tuck a few dainty flowers into the braid
to finish off this delicate style.
A Waterfall Braid
Dubbed the waterfall braid because it resembles a waterfall, this braid is elegant, yet playful, making it the perfect choice for a wedding day hairstyle.
To
fashion this braid, part your hair down the middle or to one side. Pull
out two small sections from the top of your hair on one side of the
part. Cross one section of hair over the other section so that it is
moving away from your face. Pull out a new section of your hair from the
top of your head, letting it fall down on top of the previous section
that you pulled away from your face. Repeat the process until the braid
is just behind your ear and secure with a hair tie. Place a flower or a
broach at the end of the braid to give this hairstyle even more of an
eye-catching look.
Braid-Wrapped High Bun
If you want to look like a princess on your wedding day, this is the perfect style for you.
Achieving a braid-wrapped high bun
is pretty simple. Pull your hair into a high ponytail, leaving two
sections out near the front of your heat on either side of the pony.
Secure the pony with elastic bands. Backcomb the ponytail to create some
texture and body and then wrap the hair around the base of the elastic
to create a bun. Secure it in place with bobby pins.
Braid each of
the sections of hair that you left out of the ponytail, and then wrap
them around the base of the bun, using bobby pins to hold them in place.
Put on a tiara or a blingy headband and your princess look will be complete.
