At Monday evening's Met Gala, while all eyes were on Priyanka Chopra's
unexpected date (hi, Nick Jonas), we were, quite obviously, transfixed
by her twinkly eye makeup and radiant skin. But as it turns out,
according to the actress' makeup artist, Pati Dubroff,
the secret behind the Chopra's glowy skin is much more than a decent
skin-care base. It's the way in which the product was applied that
really matters — with frozen silicone makeup applicators. Yes, frozen.
[post_ads]Before Chopra cascaded down the red carpet, Dubroff prepped the star's skin using with the MakeupDrop Silicone Applicator, which, in case you've missed the memo, are having a big moment in viral beauty. These teardrop-shaped, bra insert-like tools are beloved by beauty vloggers and makeup artists
alike for their ability to seamlessly smooth over product in
hard-to-reach crevices, like your nose and around your eyes, without
absorbing excess product.
So it makes sense as to why Dubroff reached for not one but two
of the MakeupDrop Silicone Applicators to get Chopra red-carpet ready.
To do so, she tossed two of the transparent, silicone-based tools into
the freezer to chill them before applying them to the skin with
products, like the RéVive Moisturizing Renewal Eye Cream.

But why frozen? Apparently, as Dubroff tells Allure,
the MakeupDrop holds up in lower temps and "still has flexibility, so
it feels good on eye area, unlike other conduits for cold that are hard
and unyielding." Meaning, not only does the silicone tool feel good
against the skin when chilled, but it actually works. Um, we'll take two, please.
