[post_ads]For fashion and beauty gurus alike, fall begins with New York Fashion
Week. A combination of runway recaps and street style photography
consumes our social feeds, and we're taking notes on how to channel the
trends from low-key chic to up-do elegance. Read on to learn how you can
implement these looks into your routine now and get ahead of the trends we're anticipating for 2017.

Brock Collection — Hair by Oribe
Use: Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray, $35 amazon.com; Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo, $49 neimanmarcus.com
We're having some serious deja vu this Fashion Week, as styles from the '60s and '70s continue to make the cut, but the Brock Collection paid a visit even further down memory lane, pulling inspiration from the 1950s. We love this formal coif that harmonizes stunning and retro aesthetics.
Hairstylist James Pecis first prepped strands with the Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray, specifically honing in at the top for volume and height. From there, hair was divided into three front sections and smoothed over with a powder spray. The finishing touch was a spritz of Gold Lust Dry Shampoo at the roots to mow down stubborn flyaways.

Gypsy Sport — Hair by Bumble & bumble
Use: Bumble and bumble Bb. Gel, $26 sephora.com; Bumble and bumble Dry Oil Finishing Spray, $34 sephora.com
[post_ads_2]
There were some interesting hair designs for Gypsy Sport this season: hair that stuck up to new heights, thin, pink-colored, face-framing braids. While we were thoroughly impressed, and slightly intimidated, by these intricate designs, this exaggerated afro was our favorite. You can easily re-create the look off the runway by adding volume with the Bumble and bumble Bb. Gel and setting the style with the brand's new Dry Oil Finishing Spray.

Pamella Roland – Hair by Fekkai
Use: Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Crème, from $12 amazon.com; Fekkai Blowout Sealing Serum, $19 walmart.com; Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray, $16 amazon.com
Southern Italy's cliffside village of Positano inspired Roland's vision for her Spring/Summer presentation. Models emulate that sophisticated-chic, European essence that beauty worlds have admired for years on end, with Fekkai lead stylist Marshall Lin's slicked-back ballerina bun. Mastering the look is almost as simple as your signature topknot.
Start by applying the Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Style Cream all over the hair before separating strands into two ponytails; one secured at the crown, the other at the center. Use the sealing serum to eliminate flyaways before knotting the two ponytails, wrapping each around the other in a counter-clockwise motion. Secure with bobby pins and seal with a spritz or two of Sheer Hold Hairspray.

Ji Oh — Hair by Bumble and bumble
Use: Bumble and bumble Bb. Tonic Lotion, $24 sephora.com; Bumble and bumble Bb. Thickening Full Form Mousse, $30 sephora.com; Bb. Hairdresser's Invisible Oil UV Protective Dry Oil Finishing Spray, $34 sephora.com
[post_ads]We didn't want to believe it, but crimped hair has returned to the runway. Secretly, our inner tween is geeking out over that super-cool style we crafted by sleeping with braids in our hair getting couture recognition at last. Of course, this look requires a bit more effort and a lot more product. Start by completely saturating the hair with Bumble and bumble's Tonic before blow-drying with the brand's Thickening Full Form Mousse.
Dividing midlength strands into eight pin-curl sets, flat-iron each before removing pins and brushing through strands to increase texture and volume. To polish off the look, apply Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Dry Oil Finishing Spray to keep frizz at bay.

Victoria Beckham — Hair by ghd
Use: ghd Air Hairdryer, $199 sephora.com; ghd Platinum Styler $249 sephora.com
Rewind back to Mrs. Beckham's style circa 1998 when her idea of glam was a simple black mini. Working alongside the retired Spice Girl, international session stylist Guido Palau opted to go for a similar approach — simple, yet chic. Not too far off from your at-home regimen, to get the look start by applying a heat protectant to damp hair before blow-drying with the ghd Platinum Air Dryer. To create a pin-straight aesthetic, gently run the ghd Platinum Styler from root to tip, ensuring a super glossy finish.

Opening Ceremony — Hair by Bumble and bumble
Use: Bumble and bumble Bb. Thickening Hairspray, $29 sephora.com; Bumble and bumble Surf Spray $27 sephora.com; Bumble and bumble Bb. Does It All Hairspray, $15 bloomingdales.com
Talk about a haute mess; stylist Holli Smith took Opening Ceremony's hair in a few different directions, literally. To coincide with the clothing line's eccentric designs and pieces, the Bumble and bumble rep created a sharp triangular section at the front of the scalp, pulling the hair back and creating a loose, yet somehow organized bun that looks both feminine and athletic.

Zang Toi — Hair by Macadamia Professional
Use: Macadamia Professional Style Lock Strong Hold Hairspray, $13 amazon.com; Macadamia Professional Whipped Detailing Cream, $18 amazon.com; Macadamia Professional Weightless Moisture Dry Oil Micro Mist, $32 amazon.com
Buns are making a breakthrough on the catwalk this season, and for this editor who's recently coined the topknot her lazy-girl cop-out; we're looking forward to learning a few twists. Lead stylist Eiji Yamane tagged the double chignon "The Perfectly Parisian," emulating the effortlessly chic French-girl aesthetic we know, love, and lust over. A gorgeous design for formal events, start by separating freshly dried hair diagonally to the right.
[post_ads_2]
Stopping at the crown and forming a ponytail at the nape of the neck, Yamane suggest curling the left ponytail for a hint of softness and bend. From there, divide hair into two sections and curl up, creating a large, loose bun you'll secure with bobby pins and spray with the Style Lock Strong Hold. Repeat with the right side, applying the Whipped Detailing Cream to eliminate fly-aways before completing the look with the Weightless Moisture Dry Oil Micro Mist.

Proenza Schouler — Hair by Bumble and bumble
Use: Bumble and bumble Bb. Gentle Shampoo, $25 sephora.com; Bumble and bumble Bb. Curl Sulfate Free Shampoo, $31 sephora.com; Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil, $40 sephora.com
When we think high-end couture, we imagine runways strung with models rocking beehive hairdos — styles that pay specific attention to detailing and accessories — but we were pleasantly surprised to see Proenza Schouler ladies au natural. No need to be dolled up to be fabulous; who you are is effortlessly gorgeous. The trick behind the I-woke-up-like-this look is to actually wake up like that, plus a shower. Shampoo strands with either Bumble and bumble's Gentle or Curl Sulfate blend depending on your hair, and smooth in a drop or two of the brand's Hairdresser's Oil before letting it air dry. This is, literally, all you.
