Many of us go to Instagram for beauty inspiration. On the platform, you can often find unexpected (but totally doable!) looks: there's charcoal hair, winged eyeliner, smoked peach hair, and even yellow blush. But now, makeup artist Jasmine (on Instagram as @butterflyjasmine49) has shown us a few looks that we might be a little less apt to try, as they're a bit more...advanced.Her looks often involve a lot of real props, including live snails, grass, flowers, wasps (yikes!), and fake blood. She also created a look for Thanksgiving that was made to look like mashed potatoes all over her head, but don't worry — those were fake.
[post_ads]Her artistry is commendable, and the looks she pulls off are extremely professional, but she's received some comments in the past that cause her to put disclaimers on her posts, like the one on the look that included a snail. In the caption, she says, "Why do I have a live snail on my hand? I have it there cause I like snails. They're beautiful to me. This is a form of my artistic expression, I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. I'm not asking you to get it or like it but if we can refrain from being mean about it, that'd be nice." She also notes that she found the snail in her backyard and immediately put him back after the shoot, which is nice of her.
No matter what you think of the looks themselves, you can't deny that she clearly has talent, and she also has a way with nature. She somehow got a wasp to sit on her lips with no incident, so if this whole makeup artist thing doesn't work out, she could always switch gears and work with animals.
