When we first got our hands on the new Milani Spotlight Face & Eye Strobe Palette, we almost didn't want to test it out because the gorgeous ripple design had us entranced. We didn't want to ruin it with our grubby fingers. It looks like a mini version of the Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette, and it also looks like the kind of undulating impression waves make on sand at water's edge. The five-shade Hourglass masterpiece goes for a cool $58; standing on the beach as the tide goes in and out, of course, is priceless. Milani's version, however, is just $13, and the quality is just as awesome. (IMHO, Milani is a truely underrated drugstore fave.)
[post_ads]While the Hourglass palette is formulated for decking out your lids, the Spotlight Face & Eye Strobe Palette is actually a fancy little highlighter-bronzer-blush trio. These inexpensive beauties are all about making you glow like the light is perpetually hitting you at just the right angle. Each of the three palettes comes with a separate highlighter, a blush, and a bronzer. And that trio of light-reflecting powders can be used individually to add luminosity to your cheeks or eyes. But they can also be swirled together with a fluffy brush, like the It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe French Boutique Blush Brush #4, to create a fourth shade that lends an all-over I-totally-just-got-back-from-Hawaii radiance.
As I mentioned, the strobing palette comes in three color options. The lightest of the trio is Sun Light (above on the far left). It includes a white-gold highlighter, copper bronzer, and a coral blush that blends together to yield a shimmery peach. Then, there's Candle Light (center). Its pink-pearl highlighter, caramel bronzer, and petal pink blush look rose gold when they're swept together. For darker skin tones, please meet Golden Light. It's basically the most shimmery bronze highlighter I've ever used; the individual shades are copper, cinnamon, and twinkly light bronze.
