I have very pale skin. The foundations I use have names like porcelain and Siberia, and if they're numbered, anything over 1 is usually too dark. A lot of lines don't even have colors light enough for my ghostly complexion. But if finding a foundation for superpale skin is hard, finding a natural-looking contour powder is even worse. That is, until Fiona Stiles's brand-new beauty line turned up on my desk. The makeup artist's Sheer Sculpting Palette in Light/Medium seems to be made for girls like me.
[post_ads]First off, it's a convenient, makeup-bag-friendly compact of three shades. They're the only three shades a pale girl could need. The lightest shade (a soft taupe) looks similar to a neutral eye shadow, the medium tone (a warm camel) is the perfect daytime shade for natural definition, and the darkest hue (a soft cocoa) is nice for drama, perhaps at night when you want a more chiseled look. The pressed powders go on smoothly— so smoothly that they almost feel like creams—and are extremely easy to blend. I never thought contour powder could be foolproof, but that's exactly how I'd describe these three.
In addition to this sculpting trio, there's a coordinating palette of highlighters called the Light Illusion Prism Palette that's also worth a mention. Like the powders in the contour kit, they are so soft that they feel like velvet. There's a sheer rose, a pale peach, and a warm champagne color, each with only the faintest touch of shine so they leave your skin looking glow-y and natural.
