Where should you be parting your hair?

Wondering which parting is best for you? We’ve asked the experts for the low-down on all things partings.

Perfecting your part isn't easy but when it's right it can really change your look. Freshening up your hairstyle doesn't have to be going for a super short haircut or a drastic colour change. Sometimes less is more and a simple change of part could be just what you need...

To help find the right one for you we asked the pros, Jordan Garrett of Hershesons, Leigh Keates of Josh Wood and Adam Reed of Percy and Reed for their top tips on choosing the best parting to suit you and how to wear it.

How to start      

"Choosing a parting is really down to trial and error. The good thing about choosing a parting is that it is so versatile anything goes. It's all about your inner confidence and how you wear it," says Adam.

Don't know where to start? "Play around in the mirror, and ask your friends for their thoughts. Even if your new parting looks great you may still feel a little out of your comfort zone and it will take time to adjust and love it," says Leigh.
    

Know your face shape

"If you have a rounder face you will want to elongate your face shape. Keep it in a middle parting with longer, fuller layers to give a thinner illusion" says Jordan.

"If you have amazing bone structure or epic cheekbones, open up your face as much as possible by pulling your lengths into a deep side parting" says Jordan.

Switch it up

"When it comes to switching up your part - it's all about being daring. Going out of your comfort zone doesn't necessarily mean you don't suit it but you have to own it," says Jordan.
