[post_ads]Even if you’ve mastered the art of contouring and figured out how to line your lips without looking like the Joker, perfecting the cat eye is a whole
different beast. No matter how steady your hand is with an eye pencil,
getting a straight, flawless line can sometimes feel nearly impossible.
And while there are a zillion miracle tools
on the market that claim to be able to help you do the trick, no matter
how many stencils/skinny pens/toothpick-size applicators you try, your
liner can often end up looking at least a little crooked, lumpy, or
smudged.
But as it turns out, the only product you really need to achieve peak cat eye has been sitting buried in your bathroom drawer this whole time. And it's... dental floss.
Considering
you probably have stockpiles of floss lying around in your bathroom
that (admit it) you probably aren’t using enough, this hack should be
easy enough to attempt. It works best with the floss/toothpick-sword
contraptions that moms seem to always have lying around in their cars,
but can be done with the good old spool-in-a-box variety too. Opt for an
unscented version to ensure there are no oils that can potentially mess
up your makeup or irritate your eyes. Plus, your eyelids don’t need to
smell like mint.
So how does it work? Simply paint liquid eyeliner
onto the floss, and quickly (while it’s still wet) stamp two lines in a
triangle shape in the outside corner of your eye to create the outline
of the cat eye. Then, use the liquid eyeliner to fill in the space
between the two lines. Finally, paint a straight line across your lid
and blend the components together smoothly.

blogger Makeup by Sugar is credited with discovering the ingenious
hack. It's hard to believe how many times we’ve been late for things for
the sake of an attempted cat eye without realizing the only hack we
needed was hiding under our sinks. This probably wasn’t what your
dentist meant when he said we should be flossing more, but we’ll take
it.
