Mane Mistake: Using scorching-hot water.
Hot water causes the hair cuticle to open, which leads to frizz and fading color. Rinse with cold water to seal the cuticle and reduce puffiness.
Mane Mistake: Piling your hair on top of your head while washing.
Skip this step to avoid damage and breakage. Instead, emulsify the product in your hands before applying. Then work the shampoo into your hair using a zig-zag motion with your fingers to break up the dirt and oil.
Mane Mistake: Skipping conditioner.
All hair types need nourishment. Conditioner hydrates, restores and detangles your hair, acting as a perfect complement to shampoo.

Mane Mistake: Brushing your hair while wet.
Wet hair can stretch up to 50% of its original length, making it a lot more likely to break. If you do need to brush before drying, start at the bottom and gradually work your way to the top or use a tool designed for wet hair, like The Wet Brush Detangler.
