Summer can be a rough time for those of us who love foundation. Even
the lightest formulas can slip off when the sun is really doing its
thing, especially if we're doing our due diligence with sunscreen and moisturizer. While waterproof makeup
has come a long way, there are some definite stand-out stars among the
pack, and we caught up with makeup artist Lisa Butler backstage at Paris
Fashion Week to ask her about her absolute favorite waterproof
foundation.

While doing makeup backstage during a Haute Couture show in Paris, she talked about the brand Illuminaré and their Concealing Mineral Foundation, which sells for $29 online. She told Allure, "I have like twenty tubes, it lasts for ages — it just covers, and it doesn't move. It's amazing stuff." It's a light-weight mineral formula that she says absolutely doesn't budge — even through sweat and water and under the hot lights of the runway. Though it doesn't necessarily come in the widest range of shades, Butler says they're super easy to mix and customize. They're a fairly new company and Butler says it's a pretty niche product, so it makes sense that not many people use it — yet.
However, the long-lasting mineral foundation is sold online at Illuminaré's website, and perhaps with Butler's ringing endorsement more folks will make this part of their summer beauty routine. The brand also sells cream blushes, cream eye shadows (complete with SPF 15!), and more, so they're definitely worth checking out.
