Just in time for the upcoming Eid celebration, nail polish brand ORLY and MuslimGirl.Com have launched a limited edition capsule-collection of Halal-certified nail polishes called #HalalPaint. The collection features six nail polishes made from 100% halal ingredients, including nourishing argan oil, vitamin C and provitamin B5. Notably. the formula is permeable to water — perfect for many practicing Muslims.
[post_ads]The term “Halal” is often associated with food and food preparation, but it is more than just that. “Halal” is a way of life that Muslims may adhere to, and literally means “permissible”. Some Muslims avoid wearing nail polish, as it creates a barrier against wudu or ablution — the Islamic cleansing of certain parts of the body in preparation for prayers, including the nails. If the water cannot reach the nail bed because of a non-porous layer like polish, then the wudu is not halal, or permissible. With ORLY’s Breathable technology, hydration and oxygen can pass through the nail polish, making #HalalPaint a great beauty solution for Muslims.
Each name in the collection has been consciously crafted by Muslim Girl, such as “What the Fatima?”, “Haram-Bae”, “Ig-Noor the Haters”, and “The Perfect Amani-cure”, named after the MuslimGirl.Com founder Amani Al-Khatahtbeh. The collaboration creates a space for and gives representation to Muslims, which is so lacking in the mainstream beauty industry.

“Many of us are the girls who could never find our names on a keychain,” says Al-Khatahtbeh, “so we wanted to make sure we provided that experience through this collection.”
#HalalPaint launches June 5th on halalpaint.com and the whole six-polish limited edition collection retails for $49.00.
