False Eyelash Fail Featuring Dead Fly Goes Viral on Social Media

Applying false lashes is no easy feat, even for the biggest beauty buffs. It takes tons of practice, patience, and trial and error to fully become a pro — and even then mistakes are bound to happen every now and then. We've definitely heard our fair share of false lash fails over the years (just look to YouTube for some jaw-dropping moments). That said, nothing — and we mean nothing — could have prepared us for one woman's experience.

Enter Molly Robbins, who took to Twitter to share a horrifying moment in which her mom was attempting to put on a set of fake eyelashes and didn't realize (because she wasn't wearing her glasses) that she was actually trying to stick a DEAD FLY to her regular lashes. Yeah, we weren't OK either. "Text from mum - having trouble sticking lashes on without her glasses.. turns out she was trying to glue a dead fly to her eyelid. I'm out," Molly wrote. And as expected, it quickly went viral with tweets from people freaking out about the situation, and understandably so.

While this obviously isn't a mixup we see every day, we now know that it's apparently possible to confuse a dead fly for your false lashes. It goes without saying that we'll be cringing over this for quite some time, but you're wrong if you think it'll stop us from trying to perfect our false lash technique. (We might just have to put it off 'till next week.)
