For bigwig celebrity stylists like Chris Appleton and Jen Atkin,
Balmain Hair Couture extensions are the crème de la crème of clip-in
hair. So it makes sense that the legendary fashion house would be the
one to pioneer the ultimate application hack for the long, Cher-like
lengths seen on Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande.

I first spotted the brand's Système Volume hair
extension tool on Huda Kattan's Instagram and since then, I haven't been
able stop watching it in action. Here's how it works: A square, plastic
case that contains the hair extensions is applied to the root of a
section of hair. After the case is clipped, the gun-like applicator is
pressed on to the root of the extensions and once removed — voilà !
Longer hair in less than a minute. According to Balmain, the tool works
best with Balmain's 100 percent human hair extensions and can last for
up to six months.

Having a quick and efficient machine that gives you
lengthier tresses in less than a minute makes you wonder: Why spend
months growing out your hair when Balmain's cutting-edge contraption
will do it for you almost instantly? Well, don't throw your Sugar Bear Hair gummies
out just yet; the Système Volume extension application is only
available in select Balmain partner salons only — most of which are not
in the U.S. So unfortunately, if you're not close to a Balmain salon,
your extensions will have to be applied the old-fashioned,
time-consuming way. It's still fun to gawk at though.
