While every bride has her own unique sense of style, inspiration can often come from their culture, heritage and upbringing.

INDIA

Indian brides, particularly those loyal to Hinduism, opt for red over white as red symbolises commitment, spirituality and fertility. It's not uncommon for nose rings to be worn on the left side of the face, as a mark of beauty. Henna adorns the hands and feet, drawn on by either professional mehndi artist or relative. Most women at the wedding with have henna to symbolise joy and offering.

Japenese brides can vary in dress depending on religion, they may wear a white kimino, a red kimino, a white dress or something else. But one tradition often embraced by Japenese brides is accessorising their updos with floral accessories or headdress.

KOREA

Korean brides are all about enhancing their features with bold brows, black eyeliner, loads of lashes and pink-flushed cheeks. Dresses are usually white, with veils and blingy accessories in the hair. Skin is always flawless, as expected from our double-cleansingKorean pals.

Red is an important colour to the Chinese, symbolising happiness, prosperity and good luck and is often incorporated into the wedding through the dress, bouquet or beauty look. Red and gold hair accessories are a popular choice, with updos also favoured.

Armenian brides are known to thread their entire face in the lead up to the wedding (eyebrows excluded of course), to ensure the smoothest canvas for makeup application. It's similar to dermaplaning in the way that it will remove any peach fuzz or wispy hairs on the face to leave it baby soft and hair-free.
