Most people like the taste of coconut and it can also be used in deserts and juices, as it brings in a lovely flavor. Besides coconut can help you embellish, as it can offer you loads of benefits for maintaining the health of your scalp and hair.
Coconut oil can be used as hair conditioner, and can also prove effective in preventing hair loss or keeping dandruff away. Coconut oil is used in many beauty products. It has antibacterial and anti fungal properties and is an excellent moisturizer.
However I will let you know about a few other not so known and surprising ways that coconut oil can contribute in making your life easier when it comes to a few beauty regime tasks. Using coconut oil can not only prove to be healthier for your skin and hair but can also save you money!
Here are 7 Ways You Can Use Coconut Oil in Your Beauty Regime
1
Hydrates dry hands
You might not use coconut oil on your hands when you want to go somewhere, but if you stay home and you could do with not using your hands for a few minutes, try nourishing your hands with a mask.
Hands can also get some pampering, right?
However try to choose a virgin oil as it’s the healthiest.
2
Hydrating body lotion
It seems that a recent study made on animals (before you get outraged by this you need to know that this study didn’t harm them) shows that virgin coconut oil heals wounds when applied to the skin.
Furthermore studies that were made on people reveal that virgin coconut oil raises the level of hydration while reducing the amount of water loss from the skin tissues.
3
Face cleanser
Coconut oil is great for removing even waterproof mascara!
Spread a tiny amount of coconut oil on a cotton pad and clean the desired area.
Not only will you get rid of all your make-up, but you will also hydrate your skin.
Don’t forget to wash your face afterwards.
4
Body scrub
Mix 12 tablespoons of slightly warmed coconut oil with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a pinch of large crystals salt.
Add a few drops of vanilla essential oil if you prefer giving your scrub a lovely scent.
Then gently massage the scrub on your desired area of your body. This will remove the dead cells from your skin, leaving you smelling and looking great even after you rinse it off.
5
When you shave your legs
Conventional shaving creams can be quite expensive and they might not treat the skin on your legs too delicately. However, even for this, you could just use coconut oil, as it will protect and nourish your skin very well.
Besides, coconut oil smells lovely and has an antimicrobial role, which can help sooth any possible irritation that might occur.
6
Accentuates your cheekbones
If your complexion looks a bit tired and want to freshen up quickly and easily, put just a tiny small amount of oil on your cheekbones. It will subtly glow and will have a natural look.
I sometimes do that in the morning, while putting my make-up on. It really helps when I look like I haven’t got a good night sleep. I always put the coconut oil before applying my cream blush. (Just use your fingertips to do this as you have more precision and then you could just tap it on with your blush brush to set in the cream blush better)
7
Leave-in Hair conditioner
Coconut oil penetrates deep into the layers of your hair and prevents hair loss. You could try putting a little oil in the palm of your hand and gently rub your hair, then leave it a few hours, covered with a towel. You can even sleep with the coconut oil on.
In the morning wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner.
Here is a small tip: apply the coconut oil on your towel dried hair. (Just wet your hair with just water before, as you don’t need to wash it with shampoo for this).
