According to a new study conducted by RealSelf.com, users on the site—from brides, to grooms, to wedding guests—made three beauty treatments wildly popular in preparation for wedding season. For the study, analysts looked at all reviews on RealSelf.com from May 2017 through May 2018 that mentioned the keywords “wedding” or “getting married” and ranked the procedures based on percentage of total reviews for the treatment, in order to determine the most popular pre-wedding beauty treatments for brides and wedding-goers.
Coming in at the top spot is Invisalign—nearly 4 percent of all Invisalign reviews posted within the past year included those wedding-related keywords. “Invisalign has given me so much confidence! My boyfriend of 12 years proposed and the thought of not feeling confident with my smile on my wedding day horrified me, so I went to see about getting Invisalign,” wrote one reviewer on the site. “Three weeks before I got married, my teeth are all straight and look amazing.”
Second on the list of popular beauty treatments is CoolSculpting, the non-surgical fat-reduction treatment, with 1.3 percent of mentions falling into wedding-related reviews. "I wanted to get rid of stubborn fat before my wedding," says one reviewer. "My stubborn fat around my mid section is vertically gone. The procedure was painless! I saw results within 2 months! I highly recommend CoolSculpting!"
Rounding out the top 3 list of popular beauty treatments for brides is Botox with just under 1 percent of reviews mentioning the wedding keywords. The temporary facial muscle relaxer reduces the appearance of fine lines and prevents new lines from forming.
