Give us an Instagram beauty trend and we’ll give you…us, stuck in a hashtag wormhole for eight hours when we should be sleeping. (Remember #dewydumplingskin?) The latest example? Yoga skin. And before you’re all like, exercise, blegh, hear us out.
According to U.K. makeup artist Sara Hill, who coined the term, the look is “healthy, glowing, hydrated, radiant, sheer and natural. Skin that looks like skin at its very best.” And luckily, it’s easier to achieve #yogaskin than it is to pronounce “Chaturanga.” Hill breaks her tutorial into eight steps, but don’t let that scare you away—it’s all about using the right products.
After cleansing and prepping your face per usual (and letting everything absorb), apply a silicone-free primer. Then, combine three to four pumps of your favorite sheer- to medium-coverage liquid foundation with one drop of a facial oil and one drop of a gold-tone liquid highlighter. The key is in the application: Using your hands, massage the mixture into your skin to de-puff and boost circulation. Then finish with concealer (if needed), blush or bronzer and a light dusting of powder…but “no baking, please.” (Hey, artist’s orders.)
We might not be able to contort ourselves into flying pigeon pose (yet), but our skin will never tell.
Chances are you don't even have time for the anti-aging efforts you're already squeezing in.
