If you were a teenager in the 90's,
it's possible that your eyebrows were most likely over-tweezed and
under-appreciated. While each decade has brought us new brow shapes, one
of the most common issues for women and their brows is that they're too
thin, sparse, and the hair just won't grow back. While many of us got
carried away with obsessive tweezing, it doesn't mean that your glory
days of perfectly shaped eyebrows are long gone. With fuller, thicker,
eyebrows being the main trend (and one of my favorites) there's a ton of
talk about how to maintain this look, even if you didn't have that much
to begin with. Here are my top tips on how to maintain perfect eyebrows that even Brooke Shields would be jealous of:

Back Away From The Tweezers: While tweezing can be torturous (or therapeutic for some) it's best practice to not make it a daily or weekly habit of doing this, especially if you're not really sure of how to tweeze. The best thing you can do to start your eyebrows off in good health, is go see someone who is a professional at shaping.

This will get you into a routine of working with
someone who will address all your brow concerns, and help you get your
shape back if you've lost it over time. While the debate over whether
waxing or threading is best, I prefer threading and recommend it most to
clients, as it's more gentle on the skin than wax. Leave the tweezing
for random, stray hairs that might pop up in between appointments, and
invest in a quality pair that get's the job done quickly.

Don't Overdraw: You
might see several tutorials or pictures on social media that glorify
heavily drawn or shaped eyebrows, but the best practice is always to
keep them as natural looking as possible. While heavy eyebrows can cater
to a certain makeup look, keeping brows not so dramatic will draw
attention to all the right places and not be a distraction. Using a
pencil with a brush on the end is a great way to fill in eyebrows, or if
you're comfortable with your shaping skills, go ahead and use a pomade
applied with an angled eyebrow brush. Brush through your eyebrows to get
all the hairs in the same direction, and start by slowly filling them
in lightly, especially in areas that might have gaps. You can enhance the
shape by slightly drawing just a bit more above your natural arch,
making it more defined and adding lift.

They're Sisters, Not Twins: Trying to get your eyebrows perfectly symmetrical will drive you completely insane. A great quote to remember is "Your brows are sisters, not twins", which simply means they are alike but not identical. Naturally, our faces don't resemble perfect symmetry, and one eyebrow will always be a bit higher than the other.

Get a Dye Job: Are your brows so fair that you can barely see them? A great way to fix this is simply dye them. If your brows are fair, turning gray, or you need them lightened/darkened, coloring them is an easy way to enhance them in as little as under an hour. You can buy over the counter color, or have your stylist at your hair salon help you with the right tone.

Add Some Light: Highlighting your brows is a great way to enhance shape and brighten the face. You can highlight with liquid illuminator or concealer right on the brow bone and above the arch.
