Double check. The only thing left to do on your wedding day is ensuring your makeup lives up to the gown, floral arrangements, and that fancy up-do. Even if you’ve spent years nailing your morning beauty routine down, things are a lot different on the day you say, “I do.” For starters, your wedding will probably be the most photographed day of your life. Not to mention, you’ll be doing a lot of running around to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. And you'll want to look flawless, despite being exhausted, in your wedding pictures and at the ceremony. The stakes are high, but you don’t have to fall victim to makeup faux pas that will lead you to becoming a blushing bride in all the wrong ways. From faded lipstick to shiny skin, here are seven common beauty mishaps and easy ways to fix them before you walk down the aisle. After all, you only have one time to get it right.

1.
Regular mascara + tears = big no-no.
Solution: Waterproof. Undoubtedly, you’ll probably shed a few tears at some point during the ceremony. Nothing will ruin the moment quicker than dark streaks running down your face. Make sure you apply waterproof eyeliner and mascara to guarantee no budges and smudges as you cry tears of joy.
2.
Lipstick that doesn’t go the distance.
Solution: Lip stain. Kiss lipstick and gloss goodbye, and pucker up to lip stains instead. Lipstick is short-lived and messy, and gloss is too shiny and wears off quickly. Not only will this lip stain in petal last through dancing and cake, but you don’t have to worry about it getting all over the groom when the minister tells him to seal the deal with a kiss.

3.
Shiny skin.
Solution: Blotting papers and translucent setting powder. Oil-absorbing blotting sheets and setting powder will keep shine at bay, while making sure your foundation stays put for a luminous glow and maximum radiance.
4.
Dry, chapped lips.
Solution: Exfoliate. You can expect to engage in a lot of lip locking on your wedding day. Make sure your lips are perfectly kissable by exfoliating right after you get out of the shower. Simply rub a washcloth with a facial scrub back and forth over your lips, and apply a generous amount of lip balm to lock in moisture.
6.
Experimenting with new colors and looks.
[post_ads]Solution: Just don’t. Your wedding shouldn’t be the first time you try out something new, like that smoky eye you saw a model sporting in a bridal magazine. Perhaps you'll be wearing a lot more makeup than you’re regularly accustomed to on that day, but you should strive to look natural, in tones you’re already comfortable with. The worst feeling is looking back at pictures from that day and not recognizing yourself.
7.
Not allowing your makeup to set properly.
Solution: Use a hair dryer. After every step of application, your makeup needs time to set and dry. If you’re in a time crunch, use a hair dryer on the cool setting. Make sure you’re applying everything with a sponge or brush to blend evenly.
