Raise your hand if you spent more time drawing even, full brows this
morning than eating breakfast. Got 'em raised? Same. As much as we try
to keep Broad City's Ilana's wise words in mind, "They're
sisters, not twins," we still obsess over symmetry. The Internet is
obsessed with a certain solution lately, and shockingly, it's not microblading — it's brow stamps.

stamps are a less permanent and pain-free option, and they are exactly
what they sound like: stamps in the shape of "perfect" arches. You rub
them into a powder before stamping them on top of your brows. In less
than six seconds, they're supposed to give you bold, flawless eyebrows.
Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, they kind of are, if we're
being honest. Brow stamps tend to be a disaster in the making.
If you
search #browstamp on Instagram or brow stamps on YouTube, you'll find
video upon video of the stencils in action. One video, in particular,
makes the stamps seem like they actually work wonders for everyone. If
you saw this and only this, you'd probably be sold on them.

However,
there's another side of the Internet that has uploaded videos of the
downsides of the brow stamps. Lining them up perfectly with your brows
proves to be difficult. Plus, the powder formula included with the
stencils is patchy. You can stamp it on multiple times to make the brows
look bold and completely filled in, but by the time you get the desired
opacity, the brows end up looking like a joke. The stamp looks more
unnatural than anything, making this quick hack seem considerably less
convenient than simply filling them in.

On
top of that, you have to deal with the staying power of the powder. It
looks like this will smudge with just one sudden movement or even the
tiniest drop of sweat. Most of the people who have used the stamp have
found themselves taking more time cleaning up the destruction they've
caused than actually drawing them on from scratch. No thank you.
Sadly,
some parts of your beauty routine might not be great to take shortcuts
with. If you want to try the brow stamps for yourself, though, the
i-Envy by Kiss Brow Stamp for Perfect Eyebrow is available now for $8.99
on Amazon.
