[post_ads]We can always count on Demi Lovato to inspire us when we need it the most. She continues to be open about her personal fight to love the skin she’s in and while speaking to Us Weekly, Demi dropped some work out words of wisdom to actually get us excited about hitting the gym. The singer opened up while at the launch of her limited-edition Fabletics activewear collection at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Wednesday, May 10th.
Demi Lovato credits her new-found confidence to her work outs, saying she feels the most confident when she’s training in the gym. Her training includes boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, jiu-jitsu. It’s safe to say, you probably don’t want to get on Lovato’s bad side.
She goes on to share her secret for staying positive on days she’d rather not get out of bed. (We definitely know that struggle!)
“I stay confident in my own life by daily affirmations — looking in the mirror, telling myself I’m beautiful no matter what and just learning to accept my flaws for what they are and knowing that, you know, my curves are beautiful, and I am who I am. I hope to inspire [young women] by getting in the gym, getting healthy, feeling comfortable in their skin.”
One of the many, many reasons we love Demi Lovato is because she remains unafraid to speak up about important issues close to her heart. She has been actively working to help destigmatize mental health issues, and has opened up about her battle with self-harm, eating disorders, and substance abuse.

Back in March, she celebrated five years of sobriety with this powerful Instagram note.

Demi has certainly come a long way and we couldn’t be more proud. Thanks for the words of inspiration, girl.
