Still struggling to master winged liner?
No matter if you have shaky hands, bad hand-eye coordination, or just
downright terrible patience, we guarantee there's a household hack that
can help you. Trust. In the past, we've seen makeup artists on Instagram
create perfect cat eyes with string, tape, and dental floss.
The latest one hits a little closer to your beauty routine, though. A
makeup artist named Malia, or Beautynmalia on Instagram, wielded a good
ol' bobby pin to stamp on precise flicks in seconds.

So how exactly did she use a bobby pin to create winged liner? All Malia had to do was coat the narrow V-shaped opening of the pin with liquid liner. (Several Allure editors ride or die for the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, BTW.) Then, she pressed it again her eye where she wanted the wings to be, stamping it into the right shape. After the outline was made, she etched along the root of her upper lash line. Next, she filled in the winged liner outline and connected it to the liner across her lash line. The process is repeated on the other eye, making for a perfectly even look. Ta-da! It's like a DIY version of the popular Vamp Stamp.
Pro tip: You can leave the outline empty for a graphic liner look à la Lily Collins or Emma Watson.

The only catch: You have to actually find one of your many loose bobby pins. As the wise Jay Z once said, "I've got 99 bobby pins but I can't find one." (Just kidding, but we still feel that saying deeply.) Oh yeah, and don't poke your eye out.
