Back in January, M.A.C. launched its first lip kits — lipstick and lipliner sets that go together perfectly and retail for less than they would separately. Since then, the brand has rolled out nude shades and vampy hues. It only makes sense red lip kits would be next, since M.A.C. is famous for its stellar red shades — Ruby Woo and Russian Red being the most popular.
[post_ads]Though most lip kits come with a matte liquid lipstick, M.A.C.'s are the brand's classic cream formula. Having a complementary lip liner seems less important with a creme lipstick but when you have a color as bold as red, you often need a liner to get a precise look. Makeup artists use lip liner to color in most of the lips before applying lipstick. This way, when the lipstick fades a bit, there's color underneath and it still looks clean.
Five lip kits are launching for $29 each, and when sold separately would retail for about $35. They'll be sold in M.A.C. stores and authorized retails and on maccosmetics.com only May 25 through May 29. See all the shade duos, below.
