[post_ads]If you've spent months admiring the unnatural hair colors all the red carpet risk takers and Instagram stars are rocking, but haven't been able to dye your own locks due to your job (or just because you're a little wary of going all out bright), you're in luck. The latest trend takes bold, wild shades and hides them under the guise of a more natural color. It's called "underlights," and the results are stunning:
             
                    
The process involves a colorist selecting only the underside of your hair to bleach, tone, and color, while either leaving the top section alone or dyeing it a more subtle shade. Here are a few more gorgeous examples:
         
                
You don't need long hair — colorists can make this technique work on shorter 'dos, too.
