Pat McGrath—one of the most influential makeup artists of all time—has been on a roll this year with the launch of her first makeup line, Pat McGrath Labs. We reveled at the gorgeous luminescence of Gold 002, freaked out over the oil-slick coolness of Phantom 002, and now we're preparing to lose it all over again with the release of what is perhaps McGrath's most major product yet.
[post_ads]Skin Fetish 003 is a set of highlighters that McGrath created based on a system she's been using for 22 years for "lighting the skin." The highlighters come in kits that include a dual-ended stick (one end has the highlighter and the other has a clear, slick-ifying balm made out of aloe vera and argan oil), a luminizing "pressed gel pigment," and a special highlighting brush McGrath sourced from Japan. The best part? (Other than the fact that it's a truly killer product, of course?) No matter what your skin tone is, there's a shade that will gorgeous. Nude is a cool shade that brings life to fair skin tones, while Golden is the perfect warm hue to make medium and dark skin tones glow. McGrath told us her goal when formulating these highlighters was to create a product that would emit "pure light" on women's faces, and avoid the "metal-looking" highlighter look that she sees in many products.
The hype for Skin Fetish 003 has been building steadily. Kim Kardashian took it for a test-drive during a photo shoot she did with McGrath, and McGrath has been teasing the product by posting images on Instagram of what the highlighters look like on different people.
