I've recommended my hairstylist to just about everybody. She, the woman who took me from long hair to a pixie and then back again, and who talked me out of at least one potential hair mistake, totally deserves it. But when I make my boasts about her skills, I mention one caveat: The great haircut she will inevitably give you will take forever. [post_ads]Likely the greatest amount of time you've ever spent in a salon chair. My cut on Friday night clocked in at an hour and half. (My brother's last trim took an hour—so it's not just long hair that is so time-consuming.)
My hairstylist is a perfectionist and she's chatty—two traits I generally like in people. And fortunately, I didn't have to cut the wires to a ticking time bomb anytime soon, so I was able to settle in and just relax, knowing I would leave with a style I love. For me, the time commitment is worth it, but I know people who will break up with a stylist if their trim takes longer than a half-hour.
How long do your haircuts take? Is there a time limit before your patience wears thin or is beauty worth the time served?
