Orange evokes thoughts of PSLs, falling leaves, and presidential skin tones. But just recently, orange eye shadow was all over the fall 2017 runways. Even though it's only spring, the orange eye shadow is already popping up on celebrity's lids. Just a couple days ago, Allure editors collectively freaked out over Selena Gomez's metallic pumpkin winged shadow at the premiere of the new Netflix show she produced, 13 Reasons Why. Zendaya and Jessica Chastain recently gave the latest eye makeup a go, too. For the Kids' Choice Awards, Zendaya coordinated her eye makeup with her metallic slip dress for a chic matchy-matchy look. Chastain, on the other hand, opted for a a more sultry orange-y smoky eye for the premiere of The Zookeeper's Wife.

Because it's a more unexpected eye shadow shade, this cousin is known for making bold choices and being more confident than its relatives. Other than peach and orange being in the same color family and appearing on everyone's lids, they're both universally flattering. Just as we told you a couple months ago, peach looks amazing on everyone because it's basically a combination of every undertone. "It's [a mix of] pink, orange, red, and yellow," Carrillo told Allure.

Then, let the rest of your look be "muted" with neutral shades, he adds. However, he says, "If you have tried a smoky eye, don't be afraid of orange." Just go by the "orange is the new black" adage/title of your favorite show. Sub in a pumpkin shade on your creases or brush it all over your lid.
