They can make your hair look entirely different, despite not dying everything. If you do decide to change your hair color completely, shades of red-bronze, golden-brown, and platinum blonde are now in style. If you want a look that’s a bit more free-spirited, play around with bright colors. Right now, opal hues have taken over from previous pastel shades, and darker jewel tones are also now being seen. Shades like eggplant and deep green are chosen as a more subtle alternative to the popular pastels. If you know you want a change but aren’t sure what, ask your stylist for suggestions.
When dying your hair, going to a professional stylist is well worth the money. DIY hair can easily go wrong, particularly when working with bleach and more experimental colors. Box hair dyes are also very damaging and will change the chemical composition of your hair if used too long. Also, make sure to go to a salon that uses a brand such as Redken, whose dyes are ammonia-free and not as damaging to hair. If you aren’t sure what brand your salon uses and if it’s ammonia-free, ask. Also, be sure to ask about maintenance for your particular color, as some shades, such as reds and unnatural colors fade particularly fast. Above all, make sure you leave the salon with a look you love.
