According to Taylor Rae,
a Pravana Color Collective member and Vivids hair color specialist, the
trend is still around because "soft pastel tones are very on trend for
blondes in the summer." Also, she says the denim hue adds dimension to
hair, while "giving an easy transition back into blonde when they are
ready for something new". And of course, just like jeans, "denim hair is
a look that pretty much anyone can wear and it goes with everything! Denim never goes out of style."
Often
the familiar indigo shade is artfully streaked with silver or platinum
blonde to resemble ripped knees, frays, or acid wash. To be specific,
"Denim hair is defined by a combination of dusty, metallic blues and
grays to create a soft, natural-looking vivid color," Rae explains. "I
like playing with stone-washed grays and dusty blue hues such as the
Pravana Vivids Moody Blue from the new Precious Metals Collection, or
even pieces of blonde to recreate the look of your favorite piece of
clothing." She particularly loves the trend because it's not as vibrant
as some recent rainbow hair color trends. (Um, do you think she could be
referring to neon peach hair?)
That element is one of the main details that separates denim hair from the recent ocean hair
trend. (The latter has green in the place of silver.) The result is
pretty damn close to the real thing. Here are some of our favorite
examples of the denim hair trend:

If you are going and your hair has lots of natural warmth we recommend blue grey or violet grey. Slate or silver greys can be a time bomb with yellow so cool versions will give you longer to look awesome :) #greyhair #demingrey #denimhair #bluehair
Just imagine this hair paired with a denim dress or your favorite pair of jeans. Your look would be like a next-level Canadian tuxedo.

Like most rainbow hair trends, Rae recommends washing denim hair only
once to twice a week with ice cold water with a color-safe,
sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.

Denim hair looks amazing on lobs, too:

See? I rest my case that denim hair is just as timeless as the garment itself.
