Every eye makeup look this summer seems to have been filtered in a bold sunset veil.
All of the terracotta-hued shadow palettes on the market further
drive home that point, allowing you to go as subtle as you want, or in a
bolder direction a la Jourdan Dunn. For an event at London's Saatchi
Gallery yesterday, the star wore an eyeshadow we can only describe as
"fluorescent brick." We love how it served as a focal point without
completely distracting from the rest of her face.

When it comes to bright shadows of any color, balance is key. This look works so well because, although dramatic, the orange tone is balanced by Dunn's clean skin and subtly-shiny lip. Follow in her lead by beginning with the boldest element first, then continue building the rest of your look around it.
A shadow primer will make your hue of choice adhere better and look
more intense, but if you want to turn up the volume, wet your brush with
either water or a mixing medium to transform the powder formula into a
vivid cream. Add a thin swipe of black liner to ground the color, then
use a bronzer in your crease to diffuse the statement tone.
