Foundation has pretty much always been more or less the same. It's
either liquid or powder, and when you want it off, you wash it with a
cleanser. However, there's apparently been a recent game-changer, and
now peel-off foundation is a thing — well, kind of. It's more like a
peel-off primer that you layer your foundation (and other makeup) on top
of, and then everything peels off at once. What's this magical product
called, and who makes it? It's a Korean beauty product called not4u Real Skin Patch,
and the intention is to create a barrier between your skin and makeup
to prevent getting acne from products. But does it work, and does makeup
actually look good? That's what brave vlogger Raye Boyce wanted to test
out in her YouTube series Buy? or Bye! and we're watching on the edge of our seats.

Boyce, whose YouTube channel is ItsMyRayeRaye, is no stranger to testing out all sorts of beauty products and methods. She's tried putting on setting powder before makeup, DIY permanent lash extensions,
and more. With this latest video, she was a real trooper, as she had to
put on the not4u Real Skin Patch three times before she got the right
consistency. The first time, she put it on too thick — she used so much
that it felt like a peel-off mask. The second time, it flaked off when
she applied makeup, so she tried again. The third time, she tried with a
beauty blender instead of a brush and soldiered on even when peeling
still occurred. She noted that she prefers the texture of her skin
without the Real Skin Patch, and that the products she was using weren't
quite going on smoothly. However, it looked super fun to peel off.

She decided it's a Bye rather than a Buy, as it made the texture of
her skin feel weird and her highlighter completely peeled off while she
was trying to blend, among other problems. While this product might not
be for every day use, that may not be what it's intended for. It's
supposed to be used as a barrier to prevent acne, so maybe it's best
used only for days when you wear super heavy foundation and you want to
protect your skin underneath. If you're interested in trying it out,
it's available on Amazon for just under $20.
