With all those cocktails and ice cream cones you'll be eating (and Instagramming!) this summer, you'll need equally Instagrammable nails to go with 'em. Nail artist and Sally Hansen Global Color Ambassador Madeline Poole shows you how to make four different designs you'll want to try before your next trip.
[post_ads_2]1. Ice Cream Drips
Get the look:
Alternate colors of ice cream drips on the tip of each nail.
Trick:
Use a bobby pin (or a dotter tool) to drop a spot of polish
where you want your drip to be. Then drag the drip toward the tip of
the nail to make it appear as though it's dripping. Use a brush to
smooth out the polish along the tip.

2. Picnic Print

Get the look:
- Paint two coats of white polish over the entire nail.
- Paint two vertical lines of pink equally spaced apart.
- Paint two horizontal lines of pink equally spaced apart.
- Draw small red squares on top of the intersections where the pink lines cross.
Trick:
Use a striper brush to outline your red squares before filling them in
with the red polish. This will help keep the edges of your square
super-sharp.
3. Beachy Sunset

Get the look:
- Paint the entire nail pink.
- Paint a stripe of blue along the bottom third of the nail.
- Paint a yellow stripe along the tip of the nail.
- Blend your stripes of colors so each one fades into the next.
Trick:
To create a sunset
gradient, mix a little of your colored polish with a clear polish to
thin out the color. Then take a brush and blend the edges between the
two colors to create the ombré effect.
Bonus:
Use a black polish and a thin striper brush to draw palm trees and seagulls to complete your sunset.
4. Lemon Tips

Get the look:
- Paint a half-circle on the tip of the nail with light yellow polish.
- Paint small white stripes to create the little segments.
- Outline the edge of your nail with the same white polish (like you were giving yourself a French manicure) to make the pith.
- Paint the very tip of the edge of your nail a darker yellow color to create the lemon peel.
Trick:
Use a thin eyeliner brush to draw the thin lines if you don't have a striper brush handy.
