A couple weeks ago, I vowed
to avoid writing about blackhead-popping videos. However, Reddit just
lured me back into the gross world of popping videos. (I'm so sorry I
lied to you all...and myself.) A Redditor who goes by TychaBrahe posted a
video on the Popping subreddit
— yes, that exists — of someone getting two massive blackheads removed
from inside their ear. As TychaBrahe wrote, "I never knew blackheads
like this developed in ears until I saw the first of these. Now, I don't
know what is more disturbing, that they exist or that they are
CONNECTED." Incredibly same, TychaBrahe. I had no idea this could happen
and want to return to my peaceful life before knowing such a thing.

In an eight-minute-and-39-second video recently posted by a spa in
China, you can watch the blackheads being slowly but surely yanked out
of the person's ear with a pair of pointed-tipped tweezers. The whole
time relaxing spa music plays in the background. It did nothing to ease
my disgust, though. My face wrinkled up so much while watching the video
that I'm afraid I created creases so deep that even Botox wouldn't be
able to iron out.

NYU Langone Hospital, if these were, in fact, what they appear to be.
She confirmed that the huge dark spots are indeed large blackheads. More
specifically, they are open comedones. That's the scientific name for
when pores fill up with oil and dead skin to form blackheads.Unlike Dr. Pimple Popper's
Instagram videos, this blackhead removal process takes a while. The
process is so arduous at times that it almost becomes less disgusting
and more like ASMR. When the blackhead is finally freed from the
confines of the person's ear pores (seriously, I never thought I had to
worry about clogging those), it's so satisfying. However, my nausea
returned when I noticed the person was left with two gaping holes in
their ear. I hate everything now. Someone, please send me BTS GIFs so I feel can OK again.
