How To Dye Your Hair Naturally

By Saba Murtaz

About 65% of women dye their hair, but commercial hair dyes are just loaded with dangerous chemicals. According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), hair dye products contain more than 5,000 different chemicals!

Therefore, it is always a better idea to try to get the same effects in a natural and safe way. Here are 7 ways to naturally dye your hair:

[post_ads_2]
Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is excellent for highlight. Just spray the hair with it and brush it. Leave it to act for several hours. For lighter shades, sun-dry it. If you are a blond, you can mix the lemon juice with chamomile. Repeat several times for best effects.

Walnut Shells

If you want to get a dark brown color, crush several walnut shells, boil them for half an hour, and leave to cool. Then, strain, and apply the solution to the hair.

Leave it to act for an hour, and then rinse with lukewarm water. If you want a more intense color, reheat the strained juice, allow it to simmer to ¼ of the original volume, leave it to cool, strain, and repeat.

Coffee

Coffee will help you get a chocolate color, and won’t damage your hair. Brew a strong, organic coffee, leave it to cool. Then, mix 3 tablespoons of coffee grounds,  2 cups of leave-in all-natural conditioner and a cup of the cold brewed coffee.

Apply the mixture on the hair and leave it to act for an hour. Then, rinse with apple cider vinegar, in order to get a long-lasting effect.

You can also pour the cold coffee over the hair after you have washed it, leave it to act for 20 minutes, and then rinse it with apple cider vinegar. Rinse once more with warm water. Repeat for several days in a row.

Beet and Carrot Juice

These juices are amazing for adding reddish tints to your color, Choose carrot juice for a reddish-orange color, and beet juice for red. Apply a cup of the juice to the hair, work it through, wrap the hair, and leave it to act for an hour. Then, rinse.

Henna

Henna powder from the henna plant leaves has a natural coloring pigment, which leaves a red-orange color if used alone. You can add chamomile to the paste to soften the effects.

Add 2 cups of lemon juice to one cup of henna powder, and for an improved color release, add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Leave the mixture for 4-6 hours, and apply it to the hair. Comb through, wrap the hair in plastic, and leave it thus for 2-3 hours. Then, rinse with water.

Tea

Tea is best with the natural hair color as it is not too strong. Therefore, use black tea for darker hair colors, chamomile for blondes, and rooibos for redheads. Add 3-5 tea bags to two cups of water, leave the tea to cool, and apply it on the hair. You can also add conditioner to the tea.

To cover the grays, mix in fresh or dried sage and use the combination to help open up hair follicles. Leave it to act for 1 hour, or overnight. Rinse with warm water.

Therefore, the next time you want to make a change, look in the pantry first! The effects will be a huge surprise!
