The
first time I ever put on false eyelashes was for my college graduation.
I don’t know why I thought it was a good idea, because I clearly had no
clue what I was getting myself into. After watching countless YouTube
tutorials, I finally managed to get them on, and luckily they stayed in
place all day. Thank God for beginner's luck. Ever since then I've
become a false-lash hoarder. Drugstore, high end, mink, and faux mink —
give me them all please. Nothing amps up an eye look better than a good pair of falsies.

I
was lucky enough to attend the launch event for Kiss's Lash Couture
line (which these are a part of). Being a longtime fan of the brand, I
was excited to see their newest products. Sold at the drugstore, this
entire collection feels anything but; every different style feels soft
to the touch no matter how natural- or dramatic-looking the lash is.
You'd swear these lashes were triple the cost (Little Black Dress is
around $6, give or take).
When a makeup artist at the event first
applied these lashes on me, she needed to trim the band, which happens
to be the case with most false lash strips I've used. But once she got
the size right, I fell in love. These lashes are gorgeous.
Full, but not crazy dramatic, they're shorter at the inner corners and
longer at the outer ones, giving you a natural cat-eye effect minus any
winged eyeliner. The individual lash hairs are densely packed and
crisscrossed along the band (which helps add definition to your eyes),
but then feather out toward the ends.

Popping
these bad boys on is an immediate confidence booster. Like confident to
walk up to a stranger at a bar and ask for his or her number. They're
thick and long enough to add a bit of intensity to your eyes, but also
natural enough to make people wonder if you’re just blessed with full,
thick lashes. If you are one of those people, I hate you (just
kidding...kind of).
I had to test out the Tarte Tarteist Pro Lash Adhesive
for our Best of Beauty Awards as well, so I killed two birds with one
stone and used the glue to apply these lashes before a cycling class.
Normally, I would never wear false lashes to the gym (even though I do
often work out with a full face of makeup), but ya girl had no time
running between work and the gym, so don’t judge. During the class, I
forgot they were even on. I thought if the lashes were to get annoying,
it would be during a sweaty gym class, but these guys stayed snugly on
my lashes the entire 45 minutes without jabbing me in the eye. They were
comfortable enough to wear during exercise, so you best believe these
should be your go-to lashes for a night out.
