Petroleum jelly is a multitasking beauty superstar, doing everything from removing waterproof mascara to taming your eyebrows to adding extra glow to your cheeks. Turns out it's also great for applying makeup over fine lines, says Brian Underwood, beauty director at Dr. Oz The Good Life.
"It's a secret anti-aging product," he says. "Dab it along your nasolabial folds to plump the skin and prevent any of your makeup from settling into any of those lines."

Got bags under your eyes? Grab the hemorrhoid ointment. No, that's not a typo. The cream that's the butt of many jokes — pun intended, we couldn't help ourselves — fights more than one unpleasant side effect of aging, apparently.

"There's a solution right in your medicine cabinet — hemorrhoid cream, which shrinks [under-eye bags] down," Underwood says. "Put a teeny bit on your ring ringer and dab it right under your eyes, then apply your concealer or foundation as usual."

Few things are as challenging as trying to get ready in a steamy bathroom. But you can avoid sweating while blow-drying your hair and applying makeup by applying deodorant to an unlikely area.
"Take a little bit of a clear, solid deodorant, apply it to your finger, and dab it right along your hairline. It should keep sweat at bay so your makeup stays put," Underwood says.

Talk about a sweet trick!
"For dry, chapped lips, look no further than your pantry," Underwood says. "You can soothe them with honey, which is chock-full of natural moisturizers. Use it right on your lips as a DIY lip balm. You can also mix it with sugar to buff away flaky patches."

You don't need any special products to tame feisty brows.
"Spray some hairspray onto your finger or an eyebrow brush, and smooth it through your brows to keep those hairs in place. You'll look sleek and chic," Underwood says.

Business cards create the perfect I-was-born-with-cat-eyes look.
It's difficult to master the perfect cat eye — until now. This business-meets-beauty hack is sure to make you a big earner of compliments.
"To help you keep a steady hand, take a business card and hold it at a 45 degree angle to your upper lash line. You'll use that as a guide to create a little flicking motion at the outer corner," Underwood says. "When you remove the card, you're left with a perfect line with minimal effort."

Having an out-of-control hair day? It's an easier fix than you'd think.
"Use argan oil to keep flyaways and frizz tame and looking great," Underwood says. "Just apply a few drops into the palm of your hand, smooth your hands together, and rub them through your hair."

Don't have or want to use oil? No problem! You can get rid of static in your hair the same way you get rid of it while doing laundry.
"Take a dryer sheet and rub it over your hair to keep flyaways at bay and give you a smooth, sleek style," Underwood says.
