In a perfect
world, we’d all have flawless-looking skin. But of course, that’s sadly
not the case. Still, what we do have is makeup—and with the right
products (like foundation and concealer), you can help hide the look of imperfections like blemishes, dark circles, and dark spots.
Today, we’re here to focus on covering up one particular skin issue—and
that would be dark spots. Learn how to hide dark spots with makeup by
following our step-by-step tutorial below.

How to Conceal Your Dark Spots with Makeup
Ready to disguise your dark spots? We’ve got you covered—literally—with tips on doing just that.
What you’ll need:
L’Oréal Paris Youth Code™ Dark Spot Correcting & Illuminating Serum Corrector
L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets™ Professional Magic Perfecting Base
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Color Correcting Concealer
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Glow Foundation
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Glow Concealer
Get the look by following these simple steps:
Step 1: Start with your skin care routine.
Before you move onto makeup, go through your entire skin care routine,
from cleansing to applying serum (such as the L’Oréal Paris Youth Code™
Dark Spot Correcting & Illuminating Serum Corrector) to slathering
on moisturizer.

Help create an even canvas for the rest of your makeup application by
applying a primer, like the L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets™ Professional
Magic Perfecting Base, which has a matte finish. Smooth it over your
entire face or to targeted areas.
Step 3: Color correct.
If you’re not familiar with color correcting as of yet, it’s time to
get behind this very useful makeup trend. Before applying foundation or
flesh-toned concealer, grab a color corrector. These pastel-hued
concealers help cancel out the look of various skin imperfections. The
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Color Correcting Kit has four
shades: green to neutralize the look of redness, peach to hide the look
of dark circles and dark spots, yellow to cover up discolorations, and
lavender to brighten the look of dullness. Use the peach spade sparingly
over any dark spots you’d like to disguise, blending it onto your skin
with the included makeup sponge. Feel free to use the other color
correcting shades on any other areas of your face that you’d like help
concealing. Remember, though: When it comes to color correcting, a
little bit of concealer goes a long way.
Step 4: Apply foundation.
Once you’ve covered your dark spots with color correcting concealer,
reach for foundation. Look for one with a radiant finish, like the
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Glow Foundation, which is available in 12
shades. Apply it with the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist
Foundation Blender, bouncing and blending it into your skin. Make sure
to be gentle when applying foundation overtop of the color correcting
concealer so that you don’t disrupt it from where it’s meant to be.

If any appearance of your dark spots shine through your foundation, top
your face off with a layer of concealer, such as the L’Oréal Paris
Infallible Pro Glow Concealer, which comes in eight shades. While you’re
at it, dab some concealer under your eyes in an upside down triangular
fashion, between your eye brows, down the bridge of your nose, and a
tiny spot in the middle of your chin. This technique can help instantly
brighten the look of your skin for a strobed appearance that’s truly
radiant, ensuring that all eyes will be on your best features. Dark
spots, what dark spots? Nobody has to know they’re there!
Step 6: Finish with setting powder.
The best way to ensure that your look lasts all day is to top it off
with a loose setting powder. Not only can this help lock your look in
place—it can also help ensure that your face looks smooth.
