Get rid of ruddiness...and get on with your day.
Whether you’re dealing with rosacea,
inflammation, or a complexion that leans to "too-flushed," the struggle
is ~real~ when you have 24/7 redness. If the discoloration won’t quit —
and you’re going through buckets of foundation on the reg — here's some
game-changing news. There’s a smarter way to get rid of redness, and it
involves just four so-easy steps. Makeup artist Mark Edio shows how to hide the unwanted hue on beauty blogger Mariann Yip without spackling on makeup.
[post_ads_2]Step 1: Go Green
Your new BFF should be green color corrector,
because it neutralizes the redness in your skin. If you consider the
basic color wheel, green lies opposite red, so the shades visually
cancel one another out. And you only need a little to cover a lot.
[post_ads_2]Step 2: Begin Blending
Skeptical? NBD if you need to see it to believe it. Lightly draw Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pen in Green
onto the most concentrated areas of redness, adding more only as
needed. Then, use a damp blending sponge to diffuse the color corrector
across your skin.
Step 3: Follow with Foundation
You’ve basically swapped your red skin for a slight green tint, so you still need foundation — just way
less of it than usual. Use a damp brush to pat on a layer of your go-to
formula. Wetting your brush helps to blend the two products you’ve just
used together without creating streaks, says Edio. Touch up with
concealer if you need it, but keep it light if you can.

Now that your skin looks pretty much perfect, dust a translucent setting powder all over. If you want a dewy finish and even more
staying power for your makeup (so, basically all of us) spritz on a
hydrating mist before you head out. It’ll give your skin a healthy,
luminous sheen — with zero redness in sight. Glow #goals.
