There
have been so many hair color trends this year, it's honestly kind of
hard to keep them straight. That's why giving them fun names makes it a
little bit easier, and many of the recent trends have been dubbed
food-related monikers (all the better for the 'gram!). There's been vanilla milkshake hair, golden toffee hair, cider and spice hair, and even salmon sushi hair (a lovely peach-pink hue, if you couldn't guess by the name). Now, as found by Popsugar, there's the seasonally appropriate hot toddy hair, here to warm up your look for the season.
The look is basically an updated bronde
(which, yes, is already a trend all on its own) that looks like the
color of our favorite cold-weather beverage. Celebrity stylist Michael Dueñas
says of the trend, "Hot toddy hair is the perfect winter hair. It’s
warm and inviting, and the perfect color to get your hair healthy from
the usual blonde in the summer. Then lifting it back up to a beautiful
spring color is simple, too! Having a touch — just a touch — of auburn
in your color adds depth and richness." That makes a lot of sense.
For those who don't know, a hot toddy
is made by mixing liquor (usually whiskey, though some also use brandy,
bourbon, or scotch, per preference), hot water, lemon, and honey.
Cinnamon and nutmeg can also be added to the beverage for flavor, and
the drink has a deep, rich honey color to it.
Honestly, the color was bound to be asked for at a salon someday, and it appears that day has come.
