If this fancy braiding technique looks familiar, that's because it's been all over Pinterest and all over the runway. Donna Karan featured a chain link braid in her Spring 2015 NYFW show, and now you can do it yourself. Go ahead; give this four-strand braid a try.

Low ponytails and braids were all over the spring 2015 NYFW
runways, but Donna Karan's chain link braid really stood out in our
minds. If you're looking for a new braiding technique to learn, make
this one next on your list. It might take you a few tries to get it
right—the fingering is a little tricky—but once you do, we're confident
this braid will earn itself a spot in your regular hairstyle rotation.
1. Start by splitting your hair into four equal sections and hold them in your dominant hand with your palm up.
2. Then, with your other hand, pick up the second and fourth sections to become the new first and second sections.
3. Flip the first and third sections to become the third and fourth sections.
4. You then repeat the same process from hand to
hand. Pick up section 2, place it between your thumb and forefinger on
your dominant hand, and then place section 4 between your forefinger and
middle finger. Then section 1 goes between your middle finger and ring
finger, and section 3 goes between your ring finger and little finger.
5.
Continue the same technique, picking up sections 2 and 4; then flip
your hand over to place sections 1 and 3 in the opposite hand.
6. Secure the end of your braid with a small clear elastic, and stretch it out gently to emphasize the shape of the braid.
