Convenient, comfy and fashionable? Believe it.

One overlooked ingredient to breastfeeding success: clothes that are comfortable, versatile and make new mamas feel fabulous. The good news? Many of fall’s most fashionable trends just happen to be both office-appropriate and breastfeeding-friendly.

For easy pumping and nursing, look for clothes that unbutton or unzip down the front. And while a few basic button-down blouses are a wardrobe staple worth investing in, don’t worry—you’re not going to be stuck sporting them five days a week. From gorgeous button-down dresses to soft, wearable blankets (yep, you read that right), this autumn offers an abundance of styles perfect for fashionable new moms. Even better, you may already have some of these essentials in your closet.
1. The Jumpsuit

If you love dresses for their simplicity, consider this winter alternative: the jumpsuit. Like a dress, there’s no need to worry about matching your blouse with your skirt. But there’s another big benefit to the jumpsuit: no need to pull on a restrictive pair of tights. So long as it buttons down the front, this is a must-have for breastfeeding moms. Befitting the uber-romantic vibe that graced pretty much every designer’s fall collection, the season’s best jumpsuits come in jewel tones and sport feminine accents, like ruffles.
2. The Floral Shirt Dress

Talk about a win-win: Fall’s most ubiquitous trend is also extremely convenient for breastfeeding. Plus, it’s comfortable, versatile and suitable for year-round dressing. Behold, the floral shirt-dress. Long-sleeves, a swingy skirt and a button-down front make the style an easy, breezy staple for early fall and spring, but tights and boots will carry the dress well into winter.

3. The Chambray Button-Down

This wardrobe workhorse deserves a spot in every new mama’s closet. In fact, make that two, or even three spots. Pair a chambray shirt with jeans and boots for a casual, stylish weekend look. On Monday, match the top with a midi skirt and statement jewelry for a fashionable yet office-appropriate outfit.
4. The Infinity Scarf

Here's a fall staple you probably already own and love, but as a breastfeeding mama, it’s a must-have. Why? It’s a stylish accessory that also provides a bit of privacy in a pinch. In other words, no need to weigh your diaper bag down with a nursing cover. Baby gear brands like Bébé au Lait and Itzy Ritzy offer extra-wide versions, but any infinity scarf will work. 5. The Blanket Scarf

We’re loving fall’s biggest accessory trend, the blanket scarf (also known as the oversized scarf, poncho or cape). Cinch it with a belt for a stylish (and warm!) office look, or master one of the many ways to drape it over your favorite coat. The best part? It’s an accessory that doubles as a nursing cover, a blanket or a burp cloth.

6. The Pussy-Bow Blouse

The origins of this classic blouse go back to the 1950s, when Coco Chanel could often be spotted sporting the feminine top. But the style really took off in the 80s, when it was considered a way for working women to add a feminine touch to the classic power suit. Designers have once again gravitated toward the top for Fall 2016, but it became a major talking point when Melania Trump wore a pussy-bow blouse by Gucci to the second presidential debate in the wake of her husband’s—ahem—controversial comments. No matter who you support in November, there’s no doubt the button-down version of this beloved top is a convenient way for breast-pumping moms to look polished.
