A few months ago I decided to try something "different" with my mani, so my manicurist suggested a technique called "water marbling." I chose 3 of my favorite shades and watched as she swirled them in water and dipped my nails in them to create this really pretty marble effect. Since then, I've been itching to try this at home. A few months ago I decided to try something "different" with my mani, so my manicurist suggested a technique called "water marbling." I chose three of my favorite shades and watched as she swirled them in water and dipped my nails in them to create this really pretty marble effect. Since then, I've been itching to try this at home. While it seems a bit tricky, with a little practice you can have a totally unique manicure - no two nails are the same! Here's how... What You Need:
Small bowl of cold water
3 or more different nail colors (your choice)
White or black polish (to contrast the colors you choose)
Q-tips
Cuticle oil
Polish remover
Toothpick
Topcoat
What To Do:
Apply two coats of your white/black polish as a base and let it dry completely.
In your bowl of cold water, take one nail color and pour a few drops into it. It should lay on the surface and spread out a bit. Then, continue to add the rest of your colors, one at a time almost on top of each other. Do this quickly because the polish hardens.

Once you're done, swirl the colors together lightly with your toothpick to create a marbleized pool.
Apply cuticle oil all round the edges of your nail and about a half inch under your cuticle. It will prevent excess polish from adhering to your nails, so you can wipe it off very easily.
Take one nail and place it face down onto the pool so your nail is covered and remove it.
Wipe away polish around your nails and use your q-tip and remover to lift any stubborn spots.
You'll have to repeat this process every two nails or so for the best effect.
Finish with a topcoat and flaunt your marble mani!
