Natural-looking highlights
Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to your highlight mixture; its smooth texture helps the dye glide on evenly. Paint streaks 1/2 inch apart, applying a heavier amount to the ends to mimic a sun-kissed effect.
Complete gray coverage
[post_ads]Mix 3 drops of Ardell Gray Magic Color Additive ($6; Sally Beauty Supply) with your dye: The pigment is deposited deeper in the hair, so it sticks to resistant silver strands.
High-wattage shine
Postcoloring, put 2 drops of orange or grapefruit essential oil (at health food stores) into your conditioner to lock in luster
