It seems that women with longer hair have more options to style their hair.

Thanks to the ever-popular lob, many of us have been left with shoulder-length strands that are just a hair too short for the topknots and messy ponies we used to wear. So we took a cue from some of our favorite ladies with lobs for inspiration.

A Double-Looped Ponytail
The plight of having shorter hair is the dinky little tail you end up with. Add another loop to the top of your pony (and some metallic accessories) for a super-sleek fix.
A Single-Loop Bun

Or pull everything back into a looped bun (which is a lot easier than it sounds). Just take your ponytail, wrap it around the elastic and pin the ends underneath to keep them from splaying out at the bottom.
A Slicked-Back Front
[post_ads]Here’s the best part about this style: It’s the easiest (and fastest) way to disguise greasy roots. Rake a nickel-sized dollop of gel through the top and sides of your hair and straighten just the ends so you don’t end up with a sleek top and a poufy bottom.
A Center-Parted Ponytail
Having a clean part down the middle (as opposed to pulling everything back) elevates a simple low pony.
Side-Swept Vintage Waves

All you need to recreate this retro look is a deep side part, a low ponytail and a couple of strategically placed pins to secure it underneath so it's hidden.
A Faux Knot
[post_ads]If your hair isn’t quite long enough to rock a proper topknot, just pull a ponytail halfway through the elastic and let the ends stick out, punk-rock style.
A Hidden Side Braid
A full-on crown braid might be too much of a commitment for some, but a small side braid takes care of those annoying flyaways.
