It's one of the most glamorous events in the showbiz calendar and celebrities rely on only the best glam squads to get them red carpet-ready for Cannes Film Festival.

GLAMOUR UK jetted into Cannes to delve into the beauty bags of the A-lister's go-to makeup artists and discover which beauty products and makeup hacks they swear by for looking perennially chic in the French Riviera.
We grilled Vincent Oquendo, who beautified Georgia May Jagger, Irina Shayk, Leomie Anderson, Elsa Hosk and Jasmine Tookes, as well as Mary Wiles, who is Carey Mulligan's go-to beauty guru, to get the lowdown. Here's what we learnt...
Skin prep is the key to a flawless face
Vincent Oquendo, at The Wall Group, who works with the Victoria's Secret Angels, says skin prep is the secret behind long-lasting and flawless makeup.
"I prep my client's skin a tonne before I send them out onto the Cannes red carpet," he said. "Whether it’s a facial massage using one of my favourite serums or treating them to a quick scrub and hydrating mask combo, glowy, bronzed skin is the must-have item."

Sharing his quirkiest but most relied-upon red carpet beauty secret, Vincent revealed he always puts SPF on under the makeup and then follows with a setting mist to ensure the look lasts from premiere to all-night party. We'll be trying that one before our next night on the town.
Mary Wiles, of The Wall Group, who beautified Carey Mulligan at the event, agrees, explaining: “Look after your skin. I suggest lots of facials/massage to help with lymphatic drainage." Mary swears by Suqqu Ganko massage, which is available at Selfridges and PfefferSal in London.
She added: "I like to layer serums, oils (Iconolab is a favourite), and moisturise prior to makeup for optimum hydration."
The celebrity-approved products in the glam squad's kit
1. Use a good makeup base to hold makeup in place all day through humidity indoor/outdoor and to the after parties. Dior Forever & Ever Wear Extreme Perfection and Hold makeup base is my go-to product.
2. Waterproof/smudge-proof mascara is key. I use Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara and Kevyn Aucoin as they both don’t transfer.
3. A long wearing moisture-rich lipstick is key. I love the new Burt’s Bees liquid lipsticks - you can use them as a stain or bump them up to a high impact glossy lip.

Less is definitely more
Although the red carpet is one of the glitziest occasions where you can experiment with bold new looks, Mary advocates keeping it simple. "Play up one feature at a time i.e. lips or eyes," she advises.
“Less is often more," she continues. "I use very little base or a B.B. cream like Lily Lolo, Inika and use a high concentrate concealer to cover imperfections.”
